It’s been 3 months I fully using ubuntu. Yet I (still) very (fallin) love this kinda distro. Look back the day before January, I’m not fully use linux in my laptop. It was around 80% NTFS and 20% ext3, and now my laptop turn around into 100% ext3 heheh. Where’s my Windows? Oh, I keep them in a virtualbox though.
Here’s my lists why I’m using linux:
- Stable
- Safe
- Powerfull support of community
- User Friendly, yet beautiful
- I don’t do games anymore
- Free
See? I put Free into last thing why I’m using Linux. I prefer an OS with 2 most criteria, It must be Stable and Safe. I’ve been using Microsoft Windows for ages. And I’ve been using around 1 day in 2 Months for reinstalling Windows (XP), but none since I’ve used Windows Server 2003 in my laptop. But after installed Ubuntu into my laptop, since the 1st i installed there’s nothing once indication my laptop going into hang or crash. No more BSOD on my screen
I love this.
Ubuntu is the most overrated distro ever put out. It’s not nearly as good as its fanbois portray it to be — certainly not moreso than many other distros. Its “success” is all the result hype and fanboi “marketing”.
Yes you’re right FU, it’s look like I used to think. I’ve tried redHat, mandriva, suse. All of them is really really great distros, and many other distros tough. But what I’m posting here is I’m comparing Windows and Linux with my experiences within 3 months, using Ubuntu in my perception of course.
